"I'm an older guy... is that okay?"

Updated: Aug 15

“I’m an older guy - is that okay?”

One of the most common questions I receive.

And the answer?

Absolutely.

Age doesn’t matter to me. The same way hair color or shoe size doesn't matter to me.

The erotic knows no age.

Pleasure knows no age.

Intimacy knows no age.

There’s never an age we reach when our fundamental need to be touched, loved, and to experience the pleasure and connection our bodies are waiting to share with us expires.

.

.

.

I have a man coming in this afternoon in his 80s.

I can’t wait to touch him.

I can’t wait to bring more of his body online.

 .

.

.

“I’m an older guy - is that okay?”

Another man asked me yesterday on the phone.

“Absolutely” I replied.

“Okay well I’m 58 so…”

“Awesome, that’s actually right on par with my typical demographic”

“Okay… just checking. I had a guy turn me away once, saying that I was too old for him”

My heart breaks.

“Don’t worry, you’ll be in good hands with me.”

The deeper I go into this work - the more beauty I find. And the deeper I go the more practitioner-caused pain and shame I find.

This work is sacred.

It deserves and demands to be held as such.

It demands us as practitioners to constantly be tending to our own pain. To be healing our own wounds. To be vacating our system of the hurt and the shame we’ve been carrying so we don’t end up projecting it onto those coming to us for help.

This work is sacred.

Find yourself a practitioner who honors it as such.
