You shouldn’t learn Reiki if you don’t want to upgrade your relationship and connection to the Universe / God / Spirit / Source Consciousness.
If you’re exactly where you want to be with your connection to the universe and a higher power, definitely don’t learn Reiki. Reiki is an energy that comes directly from the Divine, and learning to work with it will naturally bring you closer and deepen that connection.
Especially for my gay brothers whose relationship to God has been damaged by spiritual abuse and religious gaslighting from the church, learning and working with Reiki will begin to soothe and heal that connection. So if you’re good with where you’re at with all of that and don’t want to start healing those wounds, you probably shouldn’t learn Reiki.
You shouldn’t learn Reiki if you don’t have the grit and self-discipline to actually practice and work with it.
This is a biggie. Learning Reiki—aka getting the energetic activation that allows you to access Reiki—is just the start. You then have to actually practice Reiki and work with it consistently in order to grow your capacity to channel it and fully receive the benefits it has waiting for you.
It’s like working out—your muscles won’t grow if you never actually exercise them. You can get a fancy gym membership for the look of it, but if you never go and work out, you don’t actually receive anything from it.
The biggest “mistake” I see when people learn Reiki is never actually doing anything with it. They lack the tenacity and willpower required to override the unconscious behaviors getting in the way of developing a new, incredibly healthy and beneficial habit.
And the thing is, it doesn’t require a tremendous amount of time. More is always better, but even just five minutes a day working with Reiki will produce major changes over time. If that’s not something you have the ability to commit to, don't learn Reiki.
You shouldn’t learn Reiki if you don’t want to upgrade your vibrational frequency and catalyze the growth you’re already working on.
Reiki is, by nature, a very high-vibrational energy. Learning it alone begins upgrading your energetic system, and working with it consistently helps that higher vibration integrate into your being. As it does, your overall frequency naturally rises as Reiki helps release energetic density and emotional baggage from your system. This creates the internal environment where everything you’re already working on can integrate faster and move forward with more momentum.
So if you’re perfectly satisfied with the rate and ease of your healing journey, definitely don’t learn Reiki. It won’t replace the work you’re already doing, but it will definitely speed everything up and create more ease for you along the way.
You shouldn’t learn Reiki if you don’t want to unlock and bring forth more of your spiritual gifts.
We all carry innate energetic medicine we’re meant to share in this lifetime. Developing a devotional relationship with Reiki naturally brings those gifts online faster by upgrading your vibration and purifying the channel they move through.
So if your gifts are already fully online, there’s no need to learn Reiki. And if they aren’t yet, but you’d rather keep them dormant even longer and withhold the medicine you’re here to share with the world —Reiki probably isn’t for you.
